RULES

DON'T WANNA BE THE RANGA IN THE MIDDLE?
READ THE  RULES!

1.
KEEP IT INTERACTIVE

-Keep all discussions and all posts fan fiction OR community related and interactive.
What this means is that make sure that all members can participate in the discussion. For example friending posts and such are okay even if they are not ff related - those are posts everyone can take part in. This community is amazing and awesome, we know, but for your random off topic posts and/or Twilight picture/icon/youtube posts there are insane amount of places you can go to.
And don't forget there is a Free For All post every week, there you can go as crazy if you wish.

2.
NO DOWNLOADS, OR REQUESTS FOR DOWNLOADS

- You can ask nicely if you need something in the Free For All post that usually goes up every Friday. If it's urgent and you really think someone here would be able to help, page a mod. But really, you should be able to find out what you are looking for somewhere else than in this community.

3.
NO PROMOTION WITHOUT PERMISSION

- This includes community promotion and promoting sites outside Livejournal. No promoting your icons and/or asking people to friend you. We are not an icon community, or a community to post your ~art~/other creations in. Don't try to sell us stuff. We don't like that either.

- If you are writing a Fan Fiction it is okay to pimp it to an extent, but advertising your own chapter updates etc... Let's just say people don't really like that. Please remember not everyone a) knows who you are even if you have a post up in some Twilight forum discussing how awesome you are and how great your fic is and how you are the next SMeyer b) likes your fic. So prepare for criticism. We encourage our members to be polite but honest. And the rule still applies, if you can't stand the heat stay out of the kitchen... blah blah etc. etc. See what I mean?

4.
SAUCES AND OUTSIDE FACTS

-If you post links to Twilighted or similar sites outside this community that are locked, please add a summary for those who are not members there!
It's pretty hard to take part in a discussion if half of us can't access the site. And you have probably successfully made us curious about your link.
(on a personal note I'd rather die than join Twilighted -Johanna)

5.
CHECK THE TAGS! USE THEM!

- Sure we have a lot of nonsense tags, but all the most popular fics atm probably already have tags. If you can't find a tag, an excited mod will probably create it very soon.

6.
BE NICE. BE COOL. MAKE NEW E-FRIENDS. PROFIT.

- Don't be afraid to post though, we really only have a few rules, and they are not hard to follow. And do we really have to remind you to be nice to others? Thought so. So be nice.
- Common sense goes a long way. Read a few posts before you post, and get a sense of what's going on in here.
- If there's a double post for a new ff chapter update, the one who posted first is the winner. As simple as that.

7.
WE DO NOT TOLERATE COPY/PASTING OF PERSONAL OPINIONS OF
[info]the_gazebo
- Just read the fucking heading.

8.
IF YOU ARE NOT SURE ABOUT SOMETHING
PAGE A MOD
-You'll get a fast reply, we'll promise you that!

9.
GOT BANNED?

- So you got banhammered? Please feel free to contact us via page a mod and we can discuss why the banhammer was slammed down on you. But most likely you can answer the "omg wai wuz i banned" question for yourself by looking at the rules, and ticking off the ones you didn't follow.

10.
WHITEKNIGHTING
.... NO THANKS!

- Don't do it. It's stupid. And it makes us lol.

11.
PERSONAL ATTACKS

- We don't like personal attacks. We don't mind a bit of passion about the fandom and our opinions... There is however a difference between someone getting all up in your grill and someone straight out attacking you personally. We're not your mothers, so please try and sort it out amongst yourselves before it gets too much. If it does go overboard and you really feel like someone is attacking you, contact us! We are here to sort that shit out.

(these rules are subject to change, or explained better.....)

First words

An online friend of mine recently mentioned how she always wanted to write. She asked if I had any advice on getting started. Other than start writing, I wondered.

Writing is weird that way. Nobody ever asks my XY -- a musician -- "Oh, I always wanted to play guitar and sing; how do I get started?" I think the answer is so obvious, they never bother to ask. If they want to play guitar and sing, they'll learn to play guitar and they'll learn to sing.

I gave my friend a list of my favorite resources -- Romance Writers of America and Alicia Rasley's Writing Corner to start -- and suggested she, you know, get some words on paper (or on a screen, or whatever). Afterward, another friend said perhaps I had done the aspiring writer a disservice by offering any advice until there was something to talk about.

Because until the words are given a life outside her head, she won't be a writer.

Bluggie: the blanket with sleeves ... with bling!

Happy 2010 everyone!

I wouldn't really call this video a book trailer ... I'd call it more of a book cameo. An an homage to Snuggies, which we fly white girls know are super dope.

Enjoy! And don't forget to order today so you can take advantage of the crunk posse member special offer!

Self-described as "a little community with a lot of rage," you can soak up impassioned vibes and read blistering exposes detailing sexist attitudes in the news, pop culture, and science! A must-join community if you are, or love, a feminist. (NB: the topic of whether a "man" can be a feminist is outside the scope of this spotlight, but will probably wind up on the Writer's Block.)

The Debut Library Winner!!!

Since October, we've been getting amazing entries from libraries all over the world, and in the end, we had photos from 70 libraries! It's hard for us to believe that 2009 is officially over now, so we're excited to go out on a high note: donating FORTY SIX of our books to a single library's collection.

We've enjoyed all of these photos over the past few months, and if you'd like to take a look at all the awesome entries again, just click here.

And now, we're so excited to announce the winner of the Debut Library Prize. To announce the news, Aprilynne Pike let us use her kids as our random number generator slash hosts!

Congratulations to Beckman High School Library! Thank you so much to all the other libraries who entered!

Our Debut Year is over now, but the Debs are still bringing you new books. Check out our 2010 Release Page for our continuing adventures. Thank you all again, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
